Requirements:

• Senior certificate/ Grade 12.
• A qualification that allows registration with SANC as staff nurse.
• Grade 2: Qualification that allows registration with SANC as a staff nurse.
• A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as a Staff Nurse.
• Grade 3: minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as staff nurse. Other Skills: Candidate must have basic communication and writing skills.
• Be able to function as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

Duties:

• Provide basic clinical nursing care in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards.
• Implementation and development of basic patient care plans to provide quality patient care.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and ethical framework i.e. acts. Policies, SOP’s, guidelines and protocols governing the public service.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of ideal hospital realisation and maintenance.
• Effective utilisation of resources, maintenance of proper and accurate record keeping.
• Demonstrate basic communication with patients, supervisors and colleagues.
• Willing to rotate through department and work night duty.
• Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and support the managers to ensure quality nursing care.
